187th Mamburam Annual Uroos Begins with Spiritual Fervor
Tirurangadi: The 187th Mamburam Annual Uroos commenced with deep spiritual devotion and a serene atmosphere. This annual observance, centered around Qutbuzzaman Sayyid Alavi Mouladdaveela Al-Hussaini Thangal, who provided Kerala’s Muslim community with both spiritual and social guidance, will witness a steady stream of pilgrims over the next week, transcending caste and religious boundaries. This is the 27th Uroos being held since the Darul Huda Managing Committee assumed the responsibility of managing the Maqam.
The official inauguration took place yesterday at 4:30 PM, with the ceremonial hoisting of the flag by Sayyid Ahmad Jifri Thangal of Mamburam. Following the Asr prayer, the collective Ziyarath was led by Sayyid Abbasali Shihab Thangal. He also inaugurated the newly established Mamburam Thangal Institute for Research and Heritage Studies, a dedicated academic and research centre.
After the Maghrib prayer, the Mamburam Swalath gathering was led by Sayyid Muhammad Koya Thangal Jamalullail, the Qazi of Kozhikode.
The seven-day long Uroos will feature a rich array of spiritual and scholarly events, including Majlisunnoor gatherings, Majlisul Ishq, religious lectures, a history congress, Hifz convocation conference, and various dhikr – dua sessions.
Tonight at 7:30 PM, the Majlisunnoor gathering will be led by Panakkad Sayyid Hameedali Shihab Thangal. K.M. Saidalavi Haji Pulikkode will preside the session. Sayyid Fakhuruddin Thangal will deliver the keynote address. Other participants include Kutti Hassan Darimi, Hassan Saqafi Pookkottur, Ishaq Bakhavi Chemmad, and Shebin Badr Wafi. Tomorrow night will feature the Majlisul Ishq, inaugurated by Sayyid Muinali Shihab Thangal and led by Anwar Ali Hudawi Puliyakkode.
Islamic Speech session will be held at 7:30 PM on July 29, 30, and July 1. On July 29 (Sunday), Musthafa Hudawi Aakkode will lead the session following the inaugural talk of Sayyid Munavvarali Shihab Thangal. On July 30, Sayyid Basheerali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate and Abdussamad Pookkottur will deliver the lecture. On July 1, Sayyid Rasheedali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate, and Noushad Bakhavi Chirayinkeezhu will deliver the keynote address.
On Monday, July 30 at 10 AM, a history congress titled "The World of Mamburam Thangal" will be held, focusing on his life and vision. Speakers include Dr. M.H. Ilyas (Professor, MG University), Dr. Abhilash Malayil (Asst. Professor, Kalady Sanskrit University), and Sarfaraz (Research Scholar, Ashoka University).
The Wednesday, July schedule includes commemoration ceremony, Hifz convocation conference, and a prayer session following them. Samastha Treasurer P.P. Umar Musliyar Koyyod will inaugurate and distribute the certificates for students who completed Qur'an memorization at Sayyid Alavi Mouladdaveela Hifz College. Prof. K. Alikkutty Musliyar (General Secretary, Samastha) will lead the opening prayer, and Darul Huda Vice Chancellor Dr. Bahauddeen Muhammad Nadwi will preside. Sayyid AbduNnasir Hayy Shihab Thangal of Panakkad will lead the concluding prayer session.
On the final day, Thursday, July 3, annadanam (community feast) will begin at 8 AM. Panakkad Sayyid Swadiqali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate the program. Sayyid Abdurrahman Jifri Thangal of Kozhikode will preside the session and personalities including P.K. Kunhalikutty MLA, Abid Hussain Thangal MLA, Sayyid Ahmad Jifri Thangal of Mamburam, and A.P. Sudheesh will attend.
The one week lasting Uroos will conclude at 1:30 PM with the Moulid and Dua session. The final prayer will be led by Samastha President Sayyid Muhammad Jifri Muthukoya Thangal.
